LO3 Production Schedules
A production schedule is used to organise time efficiently whilst creating a project, it can also be used to list and plan activities.
Features of a production schedule
- Time Frame
- Tasks
- Contingency
- Milestone
- Equipment list
The managing director would make the productions schedule as they would be in charge of organising the project and it would fit in with their job roles
Effective features
- Visually effective
- Clear and fast to read
- The whole production team understand and use it
- It gives rough guidelines of how long the task should take this indicates the detail that should be produced
- Cost effective
- Factors in contingencies this ensures the schedule stays on track
- Adaptability
- Team roles identified
Ineffective Features
- Time frames and milestones need to be realistic and adaptable so not to delay launch date
- Tasks need to be clear and informative
- If no backup is saved it can be easily lost
- The schedule has to be shared around and accessed otherwise its ineffective e.g having it on a accessible data base such as OneDrive.
- Doesn't consider legal & ethical issues.
